The Preferences panel is where you go to change any of your personal information or options. You can go to the Preferences panel at any time by clicking on "Prefs" on the top menu bar.
There are four sections of the Preferences Panel:
There are four sections of the Preferences Panel:
- update personal info - this section is for updating your contact information: address, phone number, etc.
- change password - it's very easy to change your password: just remember to enter your new password twice to ensure there aren't any errors
- digest options - here, you can select what type, if any, of automated alerts you would like to receive on bills that you've added to your personalized tracking system ("My Bills"). If you select "Auto", you will receive individual alerts on each bill in your system, whenever there is a change to the bill: a hearing is scheduled, an action is taken, an amendment is made, the substance of the bill has changed (or our analysis of the bill has!), etc. If you select "Digest", you will receive a once-daily listing of all the changes to the bills in your tracking system. Keep in mind that the session moves quickly, so alerts are fairly frequent. If you're tracking more than a few bills, you may be better off opting for the Daily Digest. Either way, you can change your preference at any time.
- calendar options - here, you can select your default Calendar. This is the calendar that appears on your home page each time you log in. If you select "Whole Calendar" (the default option), the calendar on your home page will list the upcoming hearings for all the bills in the entire Protect NM system. On the other hand, if you select "My Calendar", the calendar on your home page will list only the upcoming hearings for the bills in your personalized bill tracker ("My Bills"). Again, you can change your default setting at any time, but you can also switch Calendar views on your Home page (lower right-hand corner), without changing your default preference.
